Sure to be a highlight of summer in the city, Gloucester Goes Retro returns this August bank holiday weekend for a day full of vintage-inspired family fun.
What's on at Gloucester Goes Retro?
Taking Gloucester City Centre back in time, Gloucester Goes Retro brings vintage-inspired fashion, cars and entertainment to the Gate Streets, Gloucester Docks, and Kings Square.
A must-visit for Gloucestershire petrolheads, Gloucester's biggest free classic car show brings over 500 vintage vehicles to the Gate Streets, with each street representing a different era from the 1900's to now.
There are promenade performances taking place throughout the day down at the docks, while at the Military Village on Badge Square outside the Soldiers of Gloucestershire Museum, visitors can see an impressive collection of combat vehicles including an American M18 Hellcat tank destroyer.
There's live music, DJ sets, and swing dance performances on the Kings Square stage, plus there's pop-up theatre at King's Walk, Roman solider guided tours at the Eastgate Chamber, swing dancing at Gloucester Food Dock, a 1960s exhibition at The Folk of Gloucester, 'Lost In Music' at Gloucester Guildhall, and plenty more to check out as you explore the city.
Fancy dress is highly encouraged, with prizes for the best-dressed man, woman, child, and group up for grabs, too.
