Featuring Loungers' signature 'eye-catching interiors and retro styling', Coro Lounge will offer an all-day menu with favourites for brunch, hot sandwiches and burgers, along with mains, salads and tapas inspired by cuisine from around the world.

A new all-day cafe, bar and restaurant opens in Gloucester this May 2026, bringing 30 jobs and a fresh boost to the city centre’s £200 million Kings Quarter redevelopment.

A new chapter in Gloucester’s city centre transformation, popular chain Loungers launches its latest Coro Lounge at the former Chambers pub – officially opening its doors to customers on Thursday 7 May 2026.

Loungers' design team is currently in the process of transforming the former pub into a 'warm, eclectic home from home' reflecting the chain's signature retro styling, with its name, Coro – meaning choir – a nod to to Gloucester Cathedral and the city’s choral heritage.

Coro Lounge will be open all day, every day, serving breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and drinks, with dedicated kids’, gluten‑free and vegan menus catering to all tastes from hearty comfort food, to healthier choices and indulgent treats.

Community is central to the Loungers concept, with the Gloucester venue set to host everything from business meetings and book clubs to parent-and-baby groups and creative workshops. Local groups are encouraged to get involved and use the space as a regular meeting hub.

Families are a particular focus, with games, books and colouring available for younger visitors, alongside high chairs and baby-changing facilities for what Loungers calls its ‘Little Loungers’.

General manager Kira Borlase said: ‘We can’t wait to welcome everyone to Coro Lounge from Thursday 7 May 2026. We’re passionate about becoming a genuine part of the communities we serve, so we’re really looking forward to meeting our neighbours and playing an active role locally.

‘If anyone is looking for a warm, friendly space to host events, groups or gatherings, please do pop in once we’re open. We’d love to chat and see how we can help.’

Gloucester's new Loungers venue was first announced in September 2025, with Gloucester City Council describing it as 'great news' for the city and redevelopment of Kings Quarter, which includes the Forum development and University of Gloucestershire campus.
