Pumpkin season has rolled back around, bringing with it crunchy leaves, crisp autumn air and a whole lot of family fun across Gloucestershire.
From twilight trails with live music to spooky selfie spots and wheelbarrow-loads of gourds, the county’s pumpkin patches are full to bursting with fun things to do – as well as picture-perfect pumpkins to pick. SoGlos rounds up some of our favourite places to get your seasonal squashes this autumn.
Pumpkin Picking at Over Farm in Gloucester
As one of the UK's very first attractions to host Halloween-themed activities and pumpkin picking, Over Farm in Gloucester is one of our favourites to visit during spooky season.
With pumpkins as far as the eye can see, creative displays making for fun photo opportunities, and tasty treats from local food traders, plus a bar
and covered seating to protect you from the elements, its pick-your-own pumpkin field is open every weekend in October and throughout half term. And for the more vampiric folk who prefer to go out at
night, its Pumpkins After Dark experience also features fire dancing and live
music on certain weekends, too.

Grab some wellies and a wheelbarrow and find a gorgeous gourd at Adam Henson’s Cotswold Farm Park in Guiting Power, not far from Cheltenham.
Open weekends and during half term in October, this pumpkin patch experience offers the opportunity to pick the perfect pumpkin, as well as enjoying face painting, selfie stations, tasty seasonal treats like pumpkin spice lattes and street food, and even the chance to carve your creation right there on the farm.

Gear up in gloves and boots to pick a pumpkin at Primrose Vale Farm in Cheltenham this October – and follow its famous Halloween trail.
Open every weekend during October, you’ll have a smashing visit
where you can peruse and pick pumpkins right from the ground, after
which you can head out on one of its two Halloween trails, with challenges to complete along the way to earn a treat!
Pumpkin picking at Hayles Fruit Farm near Winchcombe
Known for their PYO experiences on the edge of Winchcombe, Hayles Fruit Farm welcomes people back to pick out a plump pumpkin every October.
Whether you’re looking for a gigantic gourd or a little jack-o-lantern, pumpkins of all shapes, sizes and colours can be found here, while its farm shop has everything you need to turn those pumpkins into something tasty when you get home.

Find a sea of orange at Elm Farm in Elmore near Gloucester, usually open to visit from October – and it's free to enter with no need to book!
Wrap up warm to head out on a pumpkin picking adventure, with plenty of opportunities for farm photo ops and a delicious Wholly Gelato ice cream waiting afterwards just up the road, too.
