Popular steak restaurant, Strip Steak Bar at Gloucester Food Dock has closed its doors this June 2026.
Strip opened at Gloucester Food Dock in May 2024, having previously had a presence at Five Valleys Food Market in Stroud.
The popular steak bar, co-owned by Ross Sanders and chef Arthur Knights, specialised in Black Angus steak with 'no bookings, no bother and no bull'.
Arthur trained at Gordon Ramsay's culinary school and enjoyed success at a previous joint venture with Ross, The Lazy Cow steakhouse, and aimed to create a premium street food experience at Strip.
But after two years in Gloucester, Arthur and partner Harley have now decided it's time to move on and close the venue permanently.
The statement on the Strip Steak Bars Instagram page said: 'To all our guests. This Sunday 7 June, Strip will be closing its doors for the final time.
'We've had an incredible two years in Gloucester, but the time has come to move on.
'We want to say a huge thank you to all of our loyal regulars who have supported us week after week, and to all of our amazing team – past and present – who helped make Strip what it is.'
While steak lovers will surely miss Strip, Gloucester Food Dock remains a thriving independent foodie destination, home to Bella Mia Pizza, BKK Social, Chuck, Daikoku Ramen, Elote, Hetty's Place, Hop Kettle, Our House, Scandi Coffee Pod, Wagyu + Feather, Wholly Gelato, and Gloucestershire Lifestyle & Community Awards Cafe Coffee Shop of the Year, Roots + Seeds.
