While the initial entry is crucial to ensure your business makes it onto the shortlist, it's well-established that people buy from people, so Meet the Judges provides an unmissable opportunity for shortlisted businesses to convince the judges why they deserve to take home a trophy!
The Meet the Judges event takes the form of an informal networking session – with this year's taking place in the unique setting of Over Barn at Gloucester's Over Farm from 2pm on Tuesday 8 September 2026.
To get the very best out of the opportunity, the chosen representative from each shortlisted business should familiarise themselves with the relevant category criteria and take some time to perfect their elevator pitch before the event.
They can also get to know the judging panel on the Gloucestershire Business Awards page, so they know exactly who to make a beeline for – but remember, the judges will score all of the categories, not just their own, so it's worth talking to as many of them as possible.
Be prepared to answer questions and provide some wider context, or even bring along a product to demonstrate, providing it's portable. We've had businesses bring everything from earplugs to sausage rolls in previous years!
