Recognised by The Times as one of the country's best law firms, Brethertons Solicitors has been in business for over 200 years.

Brethertons Solicitors has expanded its presence with a new Cheltenham office, taking the nationally recognised law firm to four permanent offices across three counties.

The firm, which has been supporting clients for more than 200 years, has opened its new office in the Montpellier area as part of its continued regional growth.

Following the recent opening of its Bloxham office, Cheltenham becomes Brethertons’ fourth permanent location, alongside existing offices in Rugby and Bicester.

Founded in 1810, Brethertons has grown significantly from its Warwickshire roots and now provides legal services to clients across the country. The firm has also been recognised by The Times in its Best Law Firms guide 2026.

The new Cheltenham office gives clients access to a wide range of legal services, including wills, trusts and estate planning, Court of Protection work, family law, divorce and finance, life-changing injury, and property services including residential conveyancing.

Operating on an appointment-only basis, the office is designed to offer clients tailored support in a professional and discreet environment.

Brethertons also offers free counselling support, on-site virtual court rooms, a client concierge service, a free client clinic and training webinars, helping to make dealing with legal matters more comfortable and accessible. Its trained counsellors are experienced in supporting both adults and children through difficult times.

The expansion comes as Brethertons continues to invest in its people, with a number of recent internal promotions strengthening its partner team as part of the firm’s longer-term growth strategy.

Alison McCormack, CEO of Brethertons, says: 'Our new offices allow us to meet clients where they are, in environments that reflect who we are as a firm: approachable, professional and client-focused. It’s an exciting step forward for both our teams and the local communities we’re proud to support.'

Linda Jones, director of legal services, who has been with the firm for more than 30 years, adds: 'We may be new to Cheltenham, but supporting clients with their legal needs is something Brethertons has done for generations. We’re delighted to bring that experience and personal approach to the Gloucestershire community.'
