Coal Kitchen occupies the Grade II-listed Pillar & Lucy Warehouse, with views across the water at Gloucester Quays. It’s a setting that works equally well for an office party or a long-overdue gathering of friends – with the restaurant’s coal-fired cooking bringing something different to the traditional Christmas dinner.
Its festive menu launches on Monday 9 November 2026, priced at £36 for two courses or £45 for three. Those who wouldn’t dream of ordering anything but turkey can have a roast parcel with sage and onion stuffing, pigs in blankets and the trimmings. Elsewhere on the menu are coal-grilled sirloin of beef, grilled salmon and coal-roasted winter squash.
Larger parties can arrange buffet-style dining if they would rather move around and catch up than stay seated for three courses.
For anyone whose ideal Christmas celebration starts a little earlier, the restaurant is bringing back its festive bottomless brunch. Starting at £48 per person, it pairs dining with 90 minutes of unlimited cocktails – a lively option for friends or colleagues who fancy making an afternoon of it.
